This is not that kind of mat, but to be fair is is much less expensive. This mat is a stiffer, more brittle material with rounded, not sloped edges. Yes, I can roll on and off without catching my wheels on it, but it is not as smooth as the sloped edges, and might wear more on the floor as the wheels try to get on and off of it. Much better than the straight or square edges though.
It comes flat, because I doubt very much you could roll it without breaking it. So take care moving it and putting it down. I bought the biggest size, so I had help placing it to avoid dropping it.
On the plus side, unlike the floortex, the floor side is totally smooth, so not many places for dust and grit to lodge and wear on your hard wood floor. The top side is 'pebbled' and the chair rolls on it just fine.

The first one we received was damaged in shipping. The reseller was very fast to get a cross ship a new chair mat for replacement.
My only complaint is that it slips on hardwood. I fixed this by adding some thin strips of adhesive fabric to each corner.

Not a big deal for me, as it's not in plain sight, but if you use yours as much as I do, and it can be seen by others, I would recommend getting a more heavy-weight model. Also, I had to chose this one, due to limited space, and couldn't find one on Amazon.com that was heavier, but still only 30 x 48. So, I'm fine with it.
