It is especially good for highlighting over written notes because they don't smear as easily as regular highlighters. At first I bought the set with 8 colors but he only uses orange, pink, yellow and green--not the darker colors. So I kept the larger set and got this one instead. It only has the four preferred colors and even comes with a nice little stand. Sometimes, less is more!
