Great fridge for the money, July 28, 2011 This review is from: Whirlpool GSC25C6EYY I paid significantly less than retail, and at the price I paid, this is a great fridge. It looks fantastic, is counter depth, has huge capacity, has LED lighting, an air filter, and a water filter. There are some issues:
1) The way they squeeze so much capacity into the fridge is by putting the ice maker on the inside of the door. The downside is that this increases the amount of noise that can be heard outside the fridge, and according to some, decreases reliability, however Whirlpool has been doing this for years, and ours works fine and the noise is not a problem for us. If you have bedrooms near the kitchen, another model might be a better choice.
2) At this price level, you only get one compressor, which means that, as with all models less than $3k retail, the refrigerator gets its cold air from the freezer (unlike GE's "ClimateKeeper2" models). The air vent where the cold air comes out is located right at the top of the fridge compartment, and if you put... Read more
